Vanderburgh County commissioners on Nov. 4 opened proposals for a cyclical reassessment of real property used in property-tax valuations and voted to take the bids under advisement.
Assessor Bill said the county issued an RFP to gather information and determine whether to proceed. “We’re just, looking into maybe some other options on some of our workflow,” Bill said. The county then opened two proposals and the board voted to forward them for review.
Staff later read the bids into the record. The first, from Nexus Group, included an initial year cost of $280,000 and years two through four quoted at $255,000, for a total contract price the transcript reports as $1,045,000. The second bid, from Tyler Technologies, was submitted as a lump-sum “not to exceed” price of $914,520.
Commissioners voted to take the proposals under advisement so the purchasing authority can complete a full review before the county decides whether to award the contract.
Next steps: the bids will be evaluated by the county purchasing office and staff will return to the commissioners if they recommend moving forward with a contract.
