HR director Ginger Campbell told the board the district—s classified personnel policy committee, which includes employees from across the classified field, endorsed the raise and that the estimate of additional expenditures would increase slightly because of earlier approvals to add RBT positions. Campbell said the committee—s recommendation was the result of deliberations about how the district compares with peers in the state.
Board members voiced broad support during discussion while noting financial constraints. One member reminded the board that the district—s funding this year was based on an assumed average daily membership figure higher than current enrollment. The chair summarized support for the increase and asked for a vote. The board moved, seconded and approved the pay schedule change by voice vote; the board did not announce a recorded roll-call tally at the meeting.
The action will increase the district—s personnel costs; staff indicated the district had budget estimates available and that adding newly approved RBTs will incrementally raise total expenditures.
