The Capital Outlay Committee voted Nov. 6 to allow county staff to build a partition around the media room behind the Commission Room, a project the presenting staff member said would secure the media equipment while preserving shared HVAC, lighting and sprinkler services.
Rick, a county staff member who presented drawings, said the partition would stop at the header above the adjacent door so that ceiling systems would remain intact; the wall would not be full height to the ceiling. The plan calls for a single small keyed door with the partition finished in a neutral color to match county facilities. Rick said the work would be done in-house and that the county would not need to modify HVAC or sprinkler systems.
A motion to approve the partition was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The motion did not include a contract or additional appropriation; county staff said the work would be handled as an internal project.
