Coffee County health department project moves into interior finish work as panel manufacturing continues

County staff updated the Capital Outlay Committee Nov. 6 on the new Coffee County health department building, reporting that the subcontractor has completed brickwork and framing inspections and that sheetrock and insulation are now on site. Araceli Castell, identified in the meeting as the health department lead, and county staff are finalizing interior selections including door frames, paint colors, flooring and keying plans.
The committee discussed the exterior building panels delivered by an identified vendor (referred to as Imetco in the meeting). Staff said the vendor will produce a 3-D rendering and that panel manufacturing will take approximately six to seven weeks after finalization of panel details. The committee also discussed lighting and circuit adjustments, moving some exterior lights to the emergency-generator circuit, and adding vestibule lighting for staff entries.
Committee members described an active field review process: the architect, engineer and state health department participate in construction meetings and will join a walk-through before final acceptance. No change orders, contract awards, or funding actions for the health project were recorded in the meeting minutes.
