County building staff: showers renovation permit expected next week; demolition, mobilization dates set

Richard Kreider of Monroe County Building and Fleet told the Election Board Nov. 6 that the county completed a contract Oct. 30 with the contractor (referred to in the meeting as Strauss or construction) and applied for a building permit, which staff expected to be issued the following week.
Kreider said the contractor had received credentials and begun interior field work. Assuming the permit issuance, the contractor planned to mobilize Nov. 14 and begin demolition Nov. 17. Kreider said he was coordinating with voter registration and clerk staff on the removal or relocation of loose furniture from the suite.
Board members asked that Kreider be added to subsequent meeting agendas each month until the project is complete so the board could receive ongoing updates.
No formal action or vote was recorded on the item; the board agreed to continue monthly updates until the renovation is finished.
