Pickens County development authority reports $465,077 account balance; $10,000 donation noted

Secretary/Treasurer Payne reported the authority's single account balance was $465,077.02 as of Oct. 22, and that the account had earned $152.88 in interest. Payne said a $10,000 donation from an individual identified as "Todd" was presented and deposited and that the reported balance did not include that check.

Payne said the $10,000 came through an unclaimed capital credits process and that the deposit was completed prior to the meeting. When asked, Payne confirmed the deposit was in the mail and not reflected in the immediately reported balance.

No formal vote was recorded specifically to accept the donation during the meeting; the treasurer's report was presented as part of regular financial business. Members did not raise substantive objections in the meeting record.

The treasurer's report and the noted donation were presented to give the authority current financial standing as the board discussed upcoming staffing and meeting scheduling.
