The Columbiana City Council voted Nov. 4 to approve a permit for the “Just a Jog” winter 5K scheduled for Jan. 18, 2026, an event organizer told the council.

Crystal Lisonbee, who presented the permit application, said the race begins at Columbiana High School, heads out toward Jerusalem Lutheran Church on the same course used in previous years, and returns to the school. She said participants and volunteers will be served donuts and refreshments inside the school; a food truck will not be present.

A council member moved to “approve the manager as submitted,” the motion was seconded and the clerk called the roll. Council members recorded affirmative votes and the motion passed.

Mayor Rick thanked the organizer and encouraged council to receive the information needed on logistics; Lisonbee said the event organizers will work with the city for safety and timing.

Action on the permit was a formal recorded vote; no conditions or amendments were announced at the meeting.
