Commissioners approve supplemental appropriations, recognize $286,912.66 Rockbridge sewer revenue

Hocking County commissioners approved several supplemental appropriations and revenue recognitions at their Oct. 16 meeting, including a $2,332 increase to a Loop Road paving appropriation, appropriations related to property-tax payments, sheriff and treasurer payroll funding adjustments, and the recognition of $286,912.66 in incoming funds tied to Rockbridge Sewer contract invoices.

A commissioner told the board the final invoice for Loop Road arrived after a prior motion authorizing up to $60,000; the final bill exceeded that authorization by $2,332 and a motion to appropriate the additional amount passed by voice vote.

Commissioners also approved an appropriation associated with paying property taxes so the county could submit paperwork for state/auditor reimbursement; the appropriation amount was presented on the paperwork during the meeting record. The board approved sheriff's office appropriations totaling $10,983.30 from County 1001 (salary employees) and an additional $10,629 from County 1001 for hospital security reimbursements for June and July. The treasurer's payroll fund received an additional appropriation of $20,000; that item was approved following a roll-call vote that recorded Commissioner Andrew Davidson as abstaining and Commissioners Jason and Michael Lawson voting yes.

The board also approved an additional appropriation of $10,000 from the prosecutor’s delinquent fund to cover title-search costs related to pursuing delinquent property taxes.

Separately, commissioners approved a certificate of additional revenue and appropriated $286,912.66 to contract services to pay DLZ invoices for Rockbridge Sewer. County staff said those are incoming funds to pay vendor invoices.
