Hocking County commissioners sign final paperwork to close out Hocking Valley Scenic Trail capital request

The Hocking County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 16 approved signing a certificate of compliance and a final performance report that close out a capital budget request tied to the Hocking Valley Scenic Trail project.

Tracy Schultz, a county staff member presenting the item, told commissioners the paperwork includes a final report and “a statement of certification of compliance,” and that the documentation completes the capital request begun in 2018. Schultz told the panel the county had spent the allocated funds and handed commissioners the signature sheets for execution.

The action followed a brief discussion about related project items: a state denial of a direct equipment purchasing request for Rockbridge Phase 1, lift-station improvement costs that may require local contribution, and outstanding items on a demolition grant that remain dependent on an MOU involving the historical society. Schultz said the demolition grant is complete “other than we still need, to fulfill the MOU with Shippo,” and that she would coordinate with the historical society to finalize the sign/placard required under the agreement.

Commissioners moved, seconded and approved signing both the certificate and the final performance report by voice vote.

The paperwork will be routed to the county files as the county closes its portion of the capital request.
