At its Oct. 9 meeting the Abington Township Board of Commissioners approved the finance committee—s recommendation to: (1) approve August 2025 expenditures in the amount of $4,078,663.95 and (2) authorize the township president and manager to enter into an agreement with Zelenovsky Exerad LLC to serve as independent auditors for calendar years ending Dec. 31, 2025, 2026 and 2027.
Finance Committee Chair Commissioner Stuart Weingrad presented the expenditures motion and requested a roll-call vote. The board conducted a roll-call and the motion passed (affirmative votes were recorded). The auditor contract motion was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote; no further discussion was recorded.
The expenditures motion authorizes proper officials to sign and approve invoices and supporting documentation and to pay bills and contracts as they mature through November 2025. The auditor engagement will be executed by the president and township manager per the motion.
The board did not discuss line-item budget details in the October 9 meeting record; residents requested earlier release of the preliminary 2026 budget during public comment (see separate article).
