District proposes reclassification and new information-systems role to centralize data support

District technology and information-systems leaders presented a staffing-restructuring plan designed to centralize data and system support across the district.
Mr. Audubart and technology leaders described growing complexity in data-management and security needs and said the changes will better align titles and responsibilities. The proposal would eliminate an elementary-level technology-support position, reclassify an existing data-assistant role to an information-systems assistant and create a district-level information-systems specialist to support the many systems the district runs.
Administrators said the changes were intended to be fiscally responsible and to create a stronger district-level information-systems team; they estimated the annualized net budgetary impact at about $27,000, with a smaller cost for the remainder of the current fiscal year. The board will consider the recommendations as a voting item at the Oct. 21 meeting.
