Commissioners approve land swap and leaseback with Village of Pinehurst for relocated EMS base

The Moore County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing a property exchange with the Village of Pinehurst to relocate the county’s EMS base. Under the approved transaction the county will swap two parcels at 290 McCaskill Road (currently housing two metal buildings used by county EMS) for a property owned by the Village of Pinehurst at 55 Rattlesnake Trail.
The board approved a leaseback provision allowing the county to continue operating from the 290 McCaskill Road location while the new facility is planned and constructed at 55 Rattlesnake Trail. The leaseback is for an initial 24 months with a one-time option to extend for an additional 18 months. The deed will include language reserving the county’s right to remove and repurpose the two existing buildings if needed.
The resolution authorizes the chair to execute necessary documents and authorizes the county manager to execute the lease and related documents if the chair is unavailable. Commissioners approved the resolution by voice vote.
