The Planning Board voted to recommend a narrow technical amendment to section 8.116.h.1 of the Unified Development Ordinance to correct an apparent typo in the definition of "minor telecommunications tower."

Staff explained the definitions section of the UDO already identifies a minor telecommunications tower as having a maximum height of 50 feet above grade; another subsection erroneously referenced 30 feet. The proposed text amendment replaces 30 feet with 50 feet to align the standards throughout the UDO. The Planning Board adopted the consistency statement and moved to recommend approval; the motion carried on a voice vote.

The change was described by staff as an internal correction and not a policy change; staff said consistency between definitional text and standards will remove confusion during permit review.

Next steps: staff will forward the Planning Board’s recommendation and consistency statement to the Board of Commissioners for final action.
