Spring Hill extends City Administrator Lane Massey's employment agreement through 2027

The Spring Hill City Council authorized a 2025 employment agreement that extends City Administrator Lane Massey's term through Aug. 15, 2027, and includes several changes to compensation and severance provisions.
City attorney Spencer Lau summarized the agreement's key points, saying the new term extends through Aug. 15, 2027, establishes a renegotiation period next summer, includes a salary increase and a waiver of health-insurance benefits offsetting the change, reinstates a 401(a) retirement option, and changes severance to 12 months if the city terminates the agreement for convenience (six months remains if the agreement simply is not renewed at expiration).
Council moved to authorize the mayor to approve the agreement; the motion carried by voice vote 4-0-0. Lau stated staff would proceed with implementing the administrative steps to effect the contract changes.
