Trustees approve $1,800 purchase of two children's bookshelves from Clark trust

The Town of Hubbardston Library Trustees voted unanimously to purchase two mobile children's bookshelves at a total cost of $1,800.

Trustees said the pieces will match shelving previously built for the library and are intended to expand picture-book and graphic-novel display space in the children's room. The director reported juvenile circulation has been strong and quoted the original builder's price of $900 per unit, unchanged from a prior order in 2017.

Trustees discussed funding sources and agreed to draw the $1,800 from the Clark trust to avoid depleting operating accounts. Trustees noted the Clark trust balance is small and that using it would simplify bookkeeping. The motion included authorization to cover reasonable delivery costs if needed.

Motion and vote: the motion to approve the purchase from the Clark trust was made by Tom and carried 6–0. No objections or abstentions were recorded.
