The Cascade Charter Township Planning Commission on Nov. 3 postponed consideration of an accessory‑structure request at 7890 36th Street after staff told commissioners the materials provided by the applicant were inconsistent and did not clearly show where the building would be sited.

Staff said the applicant had circulated a neighbor consent form and a hand‑drawn box showing a proposed location but that the images were inconsistent and that the map supplied to the Planning Department did not clearly match the drawings given to neighbors. The proposed shed was described in staff materials as roughly 20 by 30 feet; staff noted size itself was not the issue but that the applicant was seeking to place the structure in what the Township treats as a front yard on a corner lot, which would require a special‑use review and would likely be difficult to approve.

"I was really unclear on what they were signing on to approving," planning staff said, referring to the neighbor consent forms, and recommended that commissioners hear any public comment today but postpone final action until the applicant submitted a complete package, including a survey, clear site plan and renderings.

No applicant representative provided a clear, legible revised plan during the meeting. After discussion, commissioners voted to postpone the case to the next planning commission meeting and asked staff to request clarified drawings and a complete application from the applicant before the next hearing.
