City staff and the developer presented two temporary intersection concepts for Crossings Boulevard at Kidron Road intended to improve traffic operations before the permanent intersection and roadway widening are completed. Staff said the developer would build and maintain the temporary improvements and that the Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) preferred Option 1.
Board response
Several board members expressed support for Option 1: Vice Mayor Linville explicitly said he supported Option 1, Alderman Murray and Alderman Warner agreed with TAC’s leaning, and the board asked staff to work with the developer to finalize details. Alderman Fuqua stated he will abstain from any formal vote concerning the Legacy Point development.
Why it matters
Staff said time is a factor: each two‑week delay risks extending a stop‑sign condition at Crossings Boulevard and Kidron Road when the new development opens. The developer’s proposal is temporary and developer‑maintained until permanent improvements are constructed; staff asked for general consensus (not a formal action) so the developer can continue design work.
Next steps
Staff will continue design coordination with the developer and return with any formal actions if concepts change or if a formal agreement is required.
