Committee extends United Way contract for one year

The Topeka City Social Services Grants Committee voted 3-0 on Nov. 6 to extend for one year the vendor contract with United Way of Kaw Valley.
Katrina Frost of Housing Services and Finance presented the contract summary and told the committee the contract is in its first year and expires Feb. 28, 2026; it includes four one-year renewal options. Frost recommended exercising a one-year renewal. A motion to extend the contract for one year passed by voice vote.
Committee members offered no objections during the discussion and the motion passed unanimously among the three members present. The committee did not change contract terms during the meeting and directed staff to proceed with the renewal process in accordance with the contract terms.
City staff and United Way representatives praised their working relationship during committee remarks.
