Commissioners approve evidence locker purchase and adopt 2026 Medical Examiner fee schedule

Commissioner Rechler moved and Commissioner Dolby seconded; the court approved the purchase.

Mandy Trevino of the Medical Examiner's Office presented an updated 2026 fee schedule for services. Trevino said she compared Lubbock County's proposed fees to schedules in Tarrant, Travis, Bexar and Dallas counties to ensure regional comparability. Commissioner Rackler moved and Commissioner Dolby seconded adoption of the 2026 fee schedule; the court adopted the schedule.

During discussion commissioners and ME staff referenced readiness to occupy the new facility and a pending furniture delivery; no additional budget allocations were requested on the record.
