Jasmine Sanchez, with the Lubbock County Tax Office, presented the county's collections for October and year-to-date totals during the Nov. 10 Commissioners Court meeting.
Sanchez reported October collections of $219,489.99 for hotels and $88,537.40 for short-term rental (car) tax, for a monthly total of $308,027.39. She also provided other reporting-period collections and year-to-date totals: total collected for the fiscal year to date for hotels was $2,665,112.59, penalties totaled $6,698.34, costs $955,744.10 and other pivots $1,273.08, yielding a combined total of $3,628,847.33. Sanchez reported monthly comparisons (monthly total down 9% versus the prior period) and a fiscal year increase of about 1% compared with last fiscal year.
Sanchez concluded with a statement of deposits and disbursements: total deposited into the new bank account through Oct. 31 (as presented) and total disbursements as of Oct. 31 of $7,910,640.62 with balances reported at $14,430,968.17.
Commissioners invited questions; none requiring further action were taken at that time.
