Council reviews several smaller budget amendments for homelessness prevention, water treatment and arterial rehab

Councilors considered several smaller budget amendments covering homelessness prevention, wastewater chemical replacement, and artery rehabilitation.

Staff said roughly $20,000 in ESG/HUD funds would be appropriated for the Center for Housing Solutions to support homelessness-prevention activities. A separate item would move $2.5 million between capital projects to fund chemical replacement at the Mohawk treatment plant; staff clarified the money is reallocated from an AMR project that is not spending its full allocation this year and will be restored next year, so the Mohawk work will not be delayed.

Another amendment would add approximately $300,000 to arterial rehabilitation projects (including 11th Street, 21st Street, Sheridan and Memorial) to cover inflationary cost increases and to reassign leftover funds from completed maintenance zones to other ongoing citywide arterial projects.

Staff indicated the children's mental-health Year 3 award of a multi-year program integrated with Tulsa Public Schools was ready to be appropriated in place for current-year spending. Councilors asked staff to send more detailed backup and timelines for forthcoming DDRF and downtown loans so they could track future needs and obligations.

Ending: Staff said they would provide additional backup materials for those items and return as needed for formal budget actions.
