Lincoln Park Main Street reported on Nov. 10 that a state-funded historic-survey covering about 250 parcels in the Lincoln Park district has been completed and submitted to the Florida Division of Historical Resources. Organization representatives said the research will support future historic-designation work and that a second grant application to expand the survey ranked first for funding and would begin July 1, 2026 if awarded.
"That grant was completed as of 07/01/2025," the presenter said, summarizing the work done for the initial survey and its submission to state reviewers. The group also listed recent business openings in the district, including Blue Clarinet (opened in September in the former Granny’s Kitchen location), and other small-business supports such as technical-assistance workshops (permitting and planning) held in partnership with Indian River State College.
Lincoln Park Main Street leaders described community events — including a toy giveaway and health-and-wellness festival, Jazz on Moores Creek and a May Day Freedom celebration — and reported that volunteers contributed 571 documented hours in the prior year. The nonprofit reported receiving city funds totaling $60,000 (which included a $10,000 grant for Jazz on Moores Creek) and additional program service revenue, donations and memberships.
Representatives said state-level cuts to arts and culture funding reduced available grant support and caused partial gaps in the group’s programming. The presentation included a near-term budget snapshot showing a reported $18,000 surplus in the quarter reviewed, but staff said the organization expected a small deficit after an outstanding consultant invoice of roughly $20,600 was processed. Staff asked the commission to note the organization’s continued outreach and volunteer efforts and to consider the ongoing impacts of state funding reductions.
Commissioners thanked the group for the report and asked follow-up questions about the property database and master-plan input; staff said the Lincoln Park team is compiling a parcel-level database to support redevelopment and outreach.
