The commission reviewed a request from Buzz Group LLC to change the plan of operation and operating name for 112 South Main Street to "Great Dane on Maine." Police Chief Moore told the commission the department is not opposed and that the proposal retains previously approved hours and entertainment conditions.
Attorney Mark Burridge and applicant Michael Demmer explained that a prior franchise relationship with Voodoo Brewing Company and the franchisor’s licensing arrangements had prevented Liquor Control approval; Buzz Group severed that relationship and secured MLCC approval for an independent concept. The applicant described a bistro-style menu and specialty cocktails; staff noted no substantive building changes other than decor updates.
Commissioners asked about the franchise issue and menu approach. After the discussion, the commission moved and approved the plan-of-operation and the applicant was cleared to proceed toward final occupancy and opening.
