At its Nov. 6 meeting the Homewood Board of Zoning Adjustment approved a motion to review and amend the board’s application fees and separately approved the 2026 meeting calendar, including a proposed move of the July meeting from July 2 to July 9.

A board member moved to review and amend the existing board application fees; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote. The transcript records Miss Jones, Mister Perkle, Mister Johnson and Miss Hand voting in favor and Mister Nieves voting no. Staff said changes to the calendar and fee schedule affect advertising deadlines and applicant submission schedules and asked that the board state the desired dates so staff could update the calendar and public notices.

The calendar vote approved the proposed 2026 schedule; board members discussed shifting the early July meeting because of Independence Day observances. Staff said moving the meeting one week later would meet advertising requirements and serve applicants. The motion to approve the 2026 Board of Zoning Adjustment calendar (including moving the July meeting to July 9) passed by recorded vote.

Staff will update the publicly posted calendar and make any required changes to fee notices and application advertising. The board did not adopt final fee amounts at the meeting; the motion authorized review and amendment of application fees.
