Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission adopts partial 2026 calendar ahead of council schedule

Andrea Burke, supervisor of CPED’s Historic Preservation Team, presented a partial 2026 Heritage Preservation Commission calendar on Nov. 10 and said it is temporary because the full council calendar has not been set. The draft includes two meetings in January and two in February (starting Jan. 13), with some dates excluded because of holidays and elections. Staff noted the Mayor and City Council calendar will determine the remainder of the HPC schedule and that staff expects a full calendar to be brought forward on Monday, Jan. 5. Commissioner Masten moved to adopt the partial 2026 calendar and the motion passed.
The partial calendar allows the commission to continue meeting early in 2026 while the council finalizes its schedule; staff will return with the full calendar once the council acts.
