Lauderhill’s commission approved a special exception Nov. 10 for Sherbin Spine Institute to operate a specialized spinal medical office at 7100 West Commercial Boulevard (corner unit in an existing medical plaza). Planner and applicant materials showed the interior layout — waiting room, exam/treatment rooms and staff areas — and indicated physicians may issue prescriptions for controlled substances after procedures but will not dispense medication on site.

City planning staff verified public‑notice procedures and said there were no disciplinary actions on file for the practitioner. The commission conducted the quasi‑judicial hearing (applicants were sworn); after questions from the dais and no public opposition, commissioners approved the special exception by roll call (5‑0). Staff will complete site compliance steps and the applicant may proceed to finalize operational permits.
