Commission discusses police motorcycle purchase but defers final vote

The department reported three certified riders now and planned to send additional officers for certification in the coming months.
A motion to approve a capital purchase request totaling $59,392.18 (to buy two Harley-Davidson Electra Glide motorcycles, funded from the police fund balance) was made by Commissioner (S6) and seconded by Commissioner (S4). On the record, the chair and commissioners discussed vote counts and whether a fourth vote was required because a commissioner was absent; the chair suggested waiting until the missing commissioner ('Sammy') is present next month.
