Commission approves rezoning to allow mobile home on Kingsland Avenue

Glynn County commissioners voted 6-0 on Sept. 18 to approve a zoning change (ZM25-19) that allows a mobile home on a 0.23-acre parcel at 305 Kingsland Avenue.
Senior Planner Christina Wright briefly reviewed the location and character area and said the mainland planning commission had unanimously recommended approval. Attorney Chuck Moulton, representing property owners John and Beverly Jacobs, told the board the proposed 2019 mobile home would be “a nice affordable place for a citizen of Glynn County to live in.” No members of the public opposed the application during the hearing.
The motion to approve the rezoning was made and seconded; the board recorded a 6-0 vote in favor.
Next steps: county staff will execute zoning documents allowing the mobile home placement under the MH-9 district standards and proceed with any required permitting.
