The Planning Commission recommended council approval to vacate a public-utility easement at Hidden Canyon Road and 1600 South so a church can incorporate three adjoining lots into its parking and site plan.
Planning staff explained that when the church bought the lots it intended to build a larger church and to incorporate the unsold lots into parking; staff said the easement contains no in-ground facilities now and that vacating it would allow the properties to be integrated into the church site plan.
No members of the public spoke during the public hearing. A commissioner moved to give a positive recommendation to council; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff will forward the item and recommended action to the city council for final approval.
