Commissioners designate Yusuf Faran chair of El Paso County Civil Service Commission

After recessing to executive session and returning to open session, the El Paso County Commissioners Court voted on Nov. 10 to designate Yusuf Faran as chair of the El Paso County Civil Service Commission.

Michelle Cochran of county administration recommended the designation. Commissioner Coronado moved the nomination, Commissioner Butler seconded, and court staff announced the motion carried; the clerk noted Judge Samaniego was absent for the vote.

The designation is an internal personnel action for the advisory Civil Service Commission; the transcript records the motion and its passage by voice vote.
