Revised ALTED survey opens; transition plan linked to TDOE resources

Leslie Watson, the council’s executive secretary, told members the revised ALTED survey opened at 07:00 the morning of the May 1 meeting and that one local education agency had already accessed it. Watson said staff expect a large volume of questions because the survey is substantially different from prior versions and that "office hours are starting immediately after this meeting" to help LEAs complete it.

Watson also said the transition plan the council developed collaboratively is approved for communications and has been added to Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) resources and linked within the survey document. She described the plan as optional for LEAs but said the goal is to encourage adoption to create a more uniform transition process across the state. Watson said the survey closes June 30 and that she hopes to share the survey report with council members prior to publication.
