City planning staff updated the Historic Resources Board on Chinatown predevelopment activities, saying demolition of fire‑damaged buildings at 34–40 Soledad Street (including 38 Soledad) is scheduled soon and that a contract is in process to stabilize and weatherproof the Republic Cafe (37 Soledad). "That demolition is moving forward, should be scheduled early this month," staff said.
