Florence City staff reported vacancies on multiple advisory boards and commissions and outlined eligibility rules for several positions.
A staff presenter summarized vacancies and assignment rules: the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee seat must be filled by someone in the hospitality industry and falls to Mayor Pro Tem Jabali to appoint; the Design Review Board seat must be a professional architect and falls to Councilman McCall (no applicants currently eligible); the Construction and Maintenance Board of Adjustments and Appeals has four positions that fall to the mayor; the Resilience and Sustainability Advisory Committee positions fall to Councilman Smith and have no applicants; the Public Safety Citizens Review Board requires members to be at least 21 and had five applicants (falls to Councilman McCall); and the Board of Zoning Appeals had one vacancy.
Separately, the mayor announced that Florence City will be closed the following day for the Veterans holiday and thanked Councilman Ed Robinson for his work securing the closure, encouraging residents to attend Veterans festivities.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn; councilmembers voted by voice and the mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
