Commissioners rescind tax assessor change order and approve sale of River Oaks Drive property to Benton City Water

Following an executive session, Atascosa County Commissioners Court reconvened Nov. 10, 2025, and moved to rescind a change order that had been approved at a special called meeting on Oct. 6, 2025; the rescission relates to a project for the Atascosa County Tax Assessor's Office and was moved by Commissioner Gillespie and seconded by Commissioner Riley. The minutes record the motion carried.

The court then considered an item discussed in executive session concerning the sale of a parcel located at 2504 In River Oaks Drive to Benton City Water. Commissioner Pavelic moved to approve the sale, Commissioner Bowen seconded, and the motion carried. The minutes record approval; the transcript does not include sale price, conveyance terms or detailed closing instructions in open session. Staff also discussed that the related appraisal RFQ for the River Oaks Drive project remains pending and that no action was taken on the RFQ item at this meeting.

Both the rescission and the property sale were recorded as actions taken after executive session; the court noted that no action had been taken while in executive session and then approved the posted items in open session.
