Depew schedules Nov. 25 public hearing on updated comprehensive plan; La Bella to present

The Village of Depew trustees authorized the village administrator on Nov. 10 to advertise a public hearing on an updated comprehensive plan, with a presentation by Catherine Powers of La Bella and Associates scheduled for Nov. 25 in Council Chambers.

The motion "the village administrator is hereby authorized to advertise for a public hearing to discuss the Village of Depew's comprehensive plan" was made, seconded and carried; the hearing date and location were read into the record and a La Bella representative was named as the presenter. Mayor Peterson and trustees emphasized that the plan update had been an ongoing subject and that including the full village in the update had been a priority since earlier planning efforts tied to Town of Lancaster and Town of Cheektowaga.

The board invited public questions at the hearing and indicated Catherine Powers would be available to present and answer questions about the plan. No substantive changes to the plan text were made during the Nov. 10 meeting; the decision at this session was to advertise and schedule the hearing for public input.
