Uxbridge reports $4.33 million on hand; board discusses Munis rollout, AI minutes and community energy savings

Speaker 3 said the system is being implemented but not every department is yet onboard and some modules are more labor-intensive than others during the rollout. "Once you get the hang of it... it'll be a lot easier to understand and a lot easier to read," Speaker 3 said, while Speaker 1 and others described a learning curve for occasional users.
The board also discussed using AI tools to speed minute-taking. Speaker 3 said the technology can produce detailed minutes and can learn speaker voices, and Speaker 1 described trying an AI app on a phone that produced an outline of a meeting. "It is clearing up minutes quickly," Speaker 3 said.
On energy, Speaker 3 noted the town's community aggregation program and projected municipal savings from a transition for town buildings. "So, you know, projection, you know, we potentially could save $35,000 this year," Speaker 3 said. Speaker 2 raised concerns about state requirements for new-home wiring and limits on gas service to certain developments, but no formal action was taken on those points.
No formal budget votes were taken at the meeting.
