Youngberg told the committee, "My goal is to provide a budget draft to the committee, in the December timeline".
After discussion about timelines and supervision/evaluation processes, Chair took a motion to approve the goals as presented; the motion passed by voice vote and the committee later confirmed acceptance with no opposition (motions and votes SEG 1850–1865; SEG 2154–2162).
The committee also discussed DESE—s recently circulated template for a middle‑school Pathways Exploration policy (which districts must complete by Nov. 1). Dr. Dwyer explained the policy is intended to increase awareness of career/technical education pathways for sixth–eighth graders through exposure, tours, and guidance activities. Several members noted MASC guidance suggesting the content could be incorporated into the program-of-studies rather than the policy manual; the committee agreed to finalize placement and formatting before the second reading.
