The Uxbridge Select Board authorized the town manager to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission to start work on the Mumford River MVP-2 pocket-park project near the Peaceful Pond / East Hartford Avenue area.
Town Manager and members reviewed the MOU’s staffing language, noting CMRPC will provide necessary staffing implementation for the Talented (MVP) project and volunteers will assist locally. “It’s pretty much gonna be done by them and volunteers,” the town manager said while calling attention to the MOU’s staffing section. The board waived the reading of the full two‑page MOU and then voted to authorize the town manager to sign the agreement with CMRPC. Member Plaskow made the motion and Member McMillan seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Board members said the work will support improvements at the small pocket-park site by coordinating volunteers and CMRPC staff; no capital appropriation was approved at the meeting, and the MOU is intended to guide project coordination and volunteer staffing rather than commit town capital funds.
