The Greeley-Evans School District 6 Board of Education approved two proclamations, accepted student reports from Early College Academy and voted to approve the consent agenda and the district evaluation council membership at its Nov. 10 meeting in Greeley.
Proclamations: The board approved a proclamation declaring November 2025 as School Psychology Week, citing the role of school psychologists in supporting students’ academic and social-emotional development. Lead school psychologist Kristen Arnold accepted the proclamation and introduced several district psychologists who said they provide building-level and district support. The board also approved a proclamation naming Nov. 19, 2025, as Education Support Professionals Day in District 6; Joaquin Morado, classified council president, accepted that proclamation and urged the public to thank transportation, kitchen and custodial staff.
Student report: Student representatives from Early College Academy, Sarah Vanegas and Levi Aldridge, briefed the board on ECA programming, including dual-enrollment with AIMS Community College that allows students to graduate with an associate degree. Vanegas described efforts to expand science coursework toward an associate of science degree; Aldridge noted the school’s small size (approximately 255 students) and reiterated a recurring student request for a larger parking lot.
Consent agenda and evaluation council: No members of the public signed up to speak. The board unanimously approved the consent agenda and authorized district officers to sign contracts (motion passed 5-0). The board also approved the proposed membership of the district evaluation council (often called a 13-38 council in the presentation), which the presenters said is required by state law and includes at minimum a teacher, administrator, principal, parent and a community member; the council co-chairs are the assistant superintendent of human resources (or a designee) and the Greeley Education Association president. The board voted 5-0 to approve the roster.
Ending: The superintendent reminded the public that schools will be closed for the Thanksgiving break (week of Nov. 24) and previewed a reorganization/oath-of-office meeting for newly elected board members in early–mid December pending finalized county results.
