At an Oct. 28 capital planning meeting, the Select Board confirmed police, fire and DPW would provide status updates on Nov. 6 and discussed prioritizing departments for later review. Speaker 7 said the town received a $15,000 legislative earmark to design improvements to Whiting School and Heckler Playground and recommended updating the recreation master plan to be eligible for larger competitive grants (up to $250,000). Board members also discussed whether weatherization and HVAC work at the police station could improve scoring for green-community grants.
Board members asked staff to bring invoices, bids and final cost estimates to future meetings; no appropriation or vote on grants occurred at this session.
