Board hears KU partnership update as Jayhawk Blueprint enrollment and credits increase, but gaps persist

The USD 497 Board of Education on Nov. 10 received a presentation on Jayhawk Blueprint, the district’s concurrent-enrollment partnership with the University of Kansas, that showed substantial growth in participation and college credit earned but persistent access gaps for racially diverse and economically disadvantaged students.
Dr. Amaya presented longitudinal data from 2019 through 2024–25 showing individual student participation increased from 288 to 445 (a 34% increase) and total course enrollments rose from 560 to 1,117, meaning course enrollments more than doubled since 2019. The district reported total college credits earned through Jayhawk Blueprint rose from 1,854 to 2,633, an increase the presenters said represents significant financial savings and early academic momentum for students.
