Commissioners reviewed the zoning map on Beacon and discussed corridor distances described in the ordinance — staff noted the overlay extends 650 feet north and south of Highway 52 centerline and reaches defined termini east and west across the Lakeside commercial area. Commissioners generally supported limiting the overlay to the commercial area so that existing owners are not retroactively burdened, while requiring landscaping for new projects.
A motion to pursue a public hearing was moved and seconded; the roll-call vote passed unanimously among commissioners present. Staff will schedule the public hearing and provide materials to support public notice and discussion.
