A member of the public, Reuben Sawyer, addressed the board during public comment seeking support for the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) board of directors Area 10 seat. Sawyer said he wanted to continue policy work started the previous year and to build better communication channels for region 10. “I’m here seeking your support for the OSBA board of directors position 10,” Sawyer told trustees.
Later in the meeting trustees moved to cast the board’s votes for OSBA representation. Chair announced a motion to vote for Clyde Rood for the OSBA board of directors (Area 10) and Jason Curtis for the legislative policy committee; the motion received a second and passed unanimously.
The board did not record any dissenting votes. The appointments are procedural board actions to name district representatives to OSBA and the legislative policy committee; no funding or policy change was made at the meeting as part of those appointments.
