District schedules Renaissance (FastBridge) pilot and flags small maintenance contracts ahead of Nov. 24 vote

Kindig said the Renaissance FastBridge pilot is a benchmarking and progress-monitoring service for grades 3–8; the pilot year would not charge for student licenses and the district would pay for professional development. "The agreement includes professional development for a total cost of $3,492.50," Kindig said. Curriculum staff later said a full, district-wide implementation quote for next year was roughly $29,000, higher than current Acadience costs.
On facilities and operations, Kindig described a preventative maintenance agreement with Venom Fitness Solutions reduced to $726 per year (down from about $932 previously) after moving to a semiannual review; and an as-needed HVAC training/consulting agreement with Smith's Air Demand Services at $40 per hour to supplement a retiring in-house HVAC expert.
Why it matters: Even modest contracts and a benchmarking vendor decision have budget implications for a district planning curriculum and intervention rollouts. Board members asked about alternatives (state-provided Firefly) and whether Renaissance offers actionable data beyond state-run pilots.
