Bethel Park sets park-hours rules: lighted areas 8 a.m.–10 p.m.; unlit areas dusk-to-dawn

The Bethel Park Borough Council voted unanimously to amend the municipal park-hours ordinance to specify operating hours for lighted and unlit areas.
Under the update to ordinance 9-11-78 §51.6 (Ordinance 11-10-25E), lighted park areas will be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. except when special permission is granted by the municipality; unlit areas will be governed by dusk-to-dawn rules. Council Member Kamenicki summarized the change on the floor and the ordinance passed 6–0.
The amendment clarifies previously open-ended language and is intended to give park users and enforcement staff clearer hours for routine operations and permitted exceptions.
