The New Richmond City Council authorized staff to solicit bids for construction and inspection services for Water Tower No. 3 after a staff presentation about completed engineering and property acquisition.
Noah, a city staff member, told the council the city has completed engineering design and acquired the property in the Fox Run development and recommended soliciting bids over the winter so contractors would be available for spring construction. "We would look to solicit bids for construction as well as the inspection services and some of the construction administration," Noah said.
Staff said bid results will return to the utility commission and the council in January, with construction expected to begin in spring or early summer 2026 and continue into late 2027. A council member moved to authorize solicitation of bids and the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The council's authorization is administrative only; specific contract awards, financing and project-start dates will return to the council for formal action following receipt and review of bids.
