Board accepts construction quote for East Marion band hall; project under budget

The Marion County School District Board voted unanimously to accept a quote from Red Gap Construction to complete the East Marion Band Hall project.
Board presenters said the work will ready a building at the end of campus to serve as a new band hall, which will in turn free space to convert the current band hall into a weight and training facility for athletes. The board noted the accepted quote came in below the district's earlier cost expectations.
The motion to accept the quote was made by Mr. Walters and seconded by Mr. Jenkins; the roll-call vote was 5–0. Staff will return with a project timeline and any contract documents required for final execution of the work.
