Anna Kosako, Wylie Parks and Recreation supervisor, briefed the board on the department's holiday programming and registration status.

Kosako said the Victorian Christmas Market will be held at the Brown House welcome center on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., coinciding with the Wylie Art Festival and featuring hand-selected vendors and themed music. She also outlined Donuts with Santa at the Wylie Recreation Center on Saturday, Dec. 13; Kosako said all slots for the session are already filled and encouraged residents to join a wait list.

For pet owners, Kosako described Santa's Furry Helpers at Prairie Dog Tails Dog Park on Dec. 13 at 12:30 p.m.; registration is $19 or $15 for those with a recreation pass and includes festive treats and photos with Santa. Kosako also noted a Christmas celebration for residents 55 and older on Friday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Cross Event Center; the event is free but requires registration.

Kosako said the department will post wait-list options when events reach capacity and that seasonal rec-center programming will expand hours for the climbing wall and offer game time when schools are out.
