Council adopts basic development plan for Irish pub at 6900 Executive Boulevard

The Huber Heights City Council on Nov. 10 adopted an ordinance approving a basic development plan for an Irish pub and restaurant proposed at 6900 Executive Boulevard (case BDP25‑23). City planner Aaron Soreau described the project as a 7,000‑square‑foot building with a seasonal “beer garden,” a rooftop gathering area and signage to be worked out during the detailed development plan. Staff recommended approval and noted the Planning Commission had unanimously recommended the basic development plan.

Staff said the site plan shows about 80 on‑site parking spaces; because the building’s seating plan provides capacity for temporary peak events, the zoning code’s strict parking calculation would have required roughly 160 spaces, but staff judged on‑site parking adequate given immediate access to the Rose Music Center parking and a planned shuttle for event nights. The staff presentation noted building setbacks, materials and height are consistent with code and that landscaping and lighting will be finalized during the detailed development plan phase.

Council action: The council waived the second reading and adopted the ordinance (BDP25‑23) by a unanimous vote (9–0). The adoption was limited to the basic development plan; detailed site improvements, signage and lighting will return under the detailed development plan review process.
