Balch Springs appoints Dasia Williams to Economic Development Type B Board

The Balch Springs City Council on Nov. 10 appointed Dasia (Dasia) Williams to the Economic Development Type B Board.
Williams introduced herself to the council, saying she lives in the Canyon Ridge neighborhood and has resided in Balch Springs for nearly two years. "I've got a 5 year old, so she's a big reason for me wanting to get active," Williams said while describing her interest in volunteering and participating in city affairs.
Councilmember Myles moved to appoint Williams to the Type B board; Councilmember Hill seconded the motion and the council approved the appointment. Several council members welcomed Williams and encouraged her participation on the board.
Next step: Williams will be recorded as a Type B board member and will receive orientation and meeting schedules from the city secretary.
